A Research-Practitioner Partnership

RITES+C is a Research-Practitioner Partnership where K-12 educators, higher education researchers, state government, and industry, collaborate to improve science and computer science education in Rhode Island and the nation.

Equitable access to Computer Science and Science education for all students in Rhode Island

Computer Science
For All

RITES+C is a proud partner in the State of Rhode Island’s CS4RI program that is bringing CS and computational thinking to RI Schools through free course materials, teacher professional development, and college credit in CS for high school students.

Computing Based Science Investigations

RITES+C is developing NGSS science class modules for Earth Science, Physical Science, and Life Science that incorporates computational thinking by having students work with large datasets to help develop inquiry-based learning in science.

Technology Enhanced Science Investigations

RITES+C has developed science class investigations that use computer-based materials to address specific standards through guided inquiry using probes for lab investigations, computational models, and software for accessing science databases.
